CMM Operator – Goods Inwards / Inspection (Mitutoyo)

Location:

Shenstone, Lichfield

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum + pension & healthcare

We are seeking an experienced CMM Operator, ideally with Mitutoyo CMM experience to support our clients Goods Inwards Inspection Laboratory.

This role offers long-term stability, further training and the opportunity to join a growing, forward-thinking engineering business.

Our client designs and manufactures high-quality, lightweight rotary engines ranging from 20–120 bhp, supplying advanced engineering solutions to a global market.

The Role

As a CMM Operator / Inspector, you will be responsible for in-house inspection activities, ensuring components, sub-assemblies and finished engines meet engineering and quality requirements.

Key duties include:

Goods inwards inspection of components and sub-assemblies
Operation of Mitutoyo CMM equipment
Inspection to engineering drawings and specifications
Completion of First Article Inspection (FAI)
Physical audit of assembled engines prior to shipment
Accurate completion of inspection and quality documentation
Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a CMM Operator or Quality / Inspection Engineer
Hands-on experience using Mitutoyo CMMs
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
Experience completing FAI documentation
High attention to detail with a structured, methodical approach
