We are looking for a Project Engineering Manager to drive the engineering execution of EPC projects with a focus on the Close Out phase. You will be part of a diverse, international team and contribute to the successful delivery of engineering scopes on high-impact energy infrastructure HVDC stations.

Based in Stafford, you will report to the Close Out PEM team leader within the Product Delivery Group (PDG).

Responsibilities
  • As Project Engineer Manager, oversee the transition from Order to Remittance (OTR) to project close-out, focusing on quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage key components of the back end of the project lifecycle (as-built drawings, punch lists, software releases, warranty claims, risk management, customer complaints (ACTs), non-conformances (NCPs)).
  • Serve as the technical lead for the HVDC Product Delivery Group (PDG) scope
    , with focus on valves, controls, and related systems/components.
  • Ensure safety is prioritized in all activities.
  • Drive multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, on-schedule and on-budget, technically compliant results.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and internal processes throughout the close-out phase.
  • Address customer complaints (ACTs) and manage non-conformances (NCPs).
  • Oversee finalisation of engineering activities within the PDG scope on EPC projects; manage as-built drawings and punch list items to completion.
  • Coordinate controls software releases (development, test, site deployment).
  • Manage warranty claims and snag list items related to PDG scope.
  • Maintain and manage risk through an up-to-date risk register, mitigation plans, and structured change management.
  • Facilitate a smooth OTR to project close-out handover.
  • Coordinate system studies (e.g., PSSE and PSCAD).
  • Manage budgets related to the HVDC PDG scope and ensure cost-efficient delivery.
  • Develop and execute a roadmap for project close-out; provide guidance and oversight for HVDC PDG activities.
  • Uphold the division of responsibilities with regional teams and the PDG.
  • Demonstrate PEM skills in governance and planning; align departmental leads for resource input and manage contract obligations (variation orders and liquidated damages where applicable).
  • Ensure RAM management and participate in Level-3 support for HVDC, handling high-pressure situations and minimising downtime; plan and manage site activities including outages.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, partners, and suppliers; provide clear reporting on progress, issues, KPIs, and contribute to key project reviews and decisions.
  • Support Engineering project teams on ROE according to unit process; drive continuous improvement within the function as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power Systems, or a related field (Electronics, Mechanical).
  • Advanced and proven experience as a Project Engineering Manager or similar in EPC environments such as Energy, Transmission, Distribution, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or related industries.
  • Successful delivery of at least two medium to large size projects.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across international and multicultural environments; resilience is a key requirement.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering project life cycles, risk management, technical interfaces, and configuration/change control.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence and align teams and represent engineering in internal and customer meetings.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (Europe and internationally) as required for project needs.
  • Experience in aftersales and project close-out is advantageous.
