Morson Vital are recruiting on behalf of a major Construction and Engineering contractor for a Training Manager / Training Coordinator. This role will support a large technical workforce across multiple sites, ensuring training, assessments and competency standards are delivered to a high level.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Training Manager / Training Coordinator to oversee and deliver training and assessments for a workforce of approximately 110 employees and 15 apprentices, alongside a number of contingent workers. This is a hands‑on role that involves visiting multiple sites across Staffordshire, conducting assessments, coordinating training programmes, and ensuring all staff meet required competency standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and deliver training programmes for permanent staff, apprentices, and contingent workers.
* Conduct assessments across a large workforce, including those supplied through external partners.
* Maintain training compliance, records, and reporting.
* Work closely with operations, HSE, and management teams to identify skill gaps and training needs.
* Support the development of apprentices and new starters.
* Ensure all training is aligned with industry standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide on-site coaching, mentoring, and practical guidance.
Ideal Background
* A1 Assessor qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience as a trainer or NVQ assessor, ideally from a military, mechanical, or electrical engineering background.
* Experience with heavy machinery, artillery, or similar mechanical environments.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage large-scale assessment exercises.
