We are working on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary academy to recruit a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 3.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and can provide consistent, calm, and structured 1:1 support throughout the school day.

The Role

Providing 1:1 SEN support to a Year 3 pupil, both in and out of the classroom

Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional regulation

Adapting tasks and resources to meet individual needs

Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement support strategies

Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and inclusion within the classroom

The Ideal Candidate

Has experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, SEMH, behavioural needs, or learning difficulties)

Is patient, nurturing, and consistent in their approach

Confident supporting emotional regulation and behaviour in a primary setting

Able to build strong, trusting relationships while maintaining clear boundaries

Teaching Assistant or Learning Support roles

Youth work

Residential care

Children’s services or support work

SEN or behaviour support roles

Direct school experience is beneficial but not essential for candidates with strong transferable skills.

Requirements

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Availability for full-time, term-time work
