IES Residential is hiring Residential Electrical Technician Trainees eager to build a long‑term career in the skilled electrical trade. This paid trainee role combines hands‑on field experience with classroom instruction while also supporting daily operations at our Education Center.

• Assist licensed electrical technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential electrical systems
• Learn and follow all safety procedures, proper tool usage, and electrical building codes
• Support job site setup, cleanup, and material handling
• Report to the Education Center on time each workday
• Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and general Education Center maintenance during non‑class weeks
• Maintain excellent attendance and reliability, as consistent presence is essential to success in this role

Minimum Years of

Experience:

0-2

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade
• Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions, work effectively as part of a team, and maintain an organized work environment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Prior vocational training, construction experience, or hands‑on trade exposure

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb for extended periods
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in various environments, including indoors, outdoors, and in confined spaces such as attics or crawl spaces
• Ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts
• Manual dexterity to use hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
