ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE:
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.
Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

- Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
- Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
- Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs when assistance is required.
- Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
- Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
- If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
- Execute processes including changing prices on products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
- Learn how operations procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
- Be knowledgeable about resources, products, and services available in the total store and in your area to solve issues and improve guest experience.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner; comply with safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking/packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while adhering to applicable laws (e.g., beverage laws).
- All other duties based on business needs.
- You enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and fellow team members.
- You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role where teamwork, flexibility, and problem solving are key.
- You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times).

- Ability to communicate on multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow multi-step processes
- Remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb ladders as required
- Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 44 pounds without additional assistance
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions while performing duties
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
