M - Th 5 AM - 3:30 AM Some OT as needed

$17-$19/HR

Key Responsibilities:

Setting up and operating shears:

This includes adjusting blade angles, pressure, and speed settings to achieve accurate cuts.

Loading and unloading materials:

This may involve using cranes, forklifts, or other equipment to move steel plates, sheets, or other materials.

Performing quality checks:

Inspecting cut pieces for accuracy, ensuring they meet specifications, and reporting any issues.

Troubleshooting and maintenance:

Identifying and resolving equipment issues, performing minor maintenance tasks, and notifying supervisors of major problems.

Reading blueprints and technical drawings:

Interpreting specifications to determine the correct settings and dimensions for cuts.

Safety compliance:

Following safety procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and ensuring a safe work environment.

Additional Skills and Knowledge:

Shop math:
Proficiency in decimals, fractions, and measurements is essential.

Metal cutting techniques:
Understanding different types of shears, their limitations, and proper techniques for various materials.

Blueprint reading and interpretation:
Accurately interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications.

Basic math skills:
Performing calculations related to material dimensions, cuts, and tolerances.
