Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics Technician, Quality Engineering
The Space Systems Technician team is positioned within the larger Atec Space Systems organization. As one of its members, you will help perform the fabrication, assembly, and test of spaceflight hardware. This position requires someone with a dynamic mindset who can navigate between fine details and the big picture with a breadth of assembly, engineering drawing, work instruction, and test knowledge.
It also requires working with a number of internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, production, quality, operations, and suppliers.
- Read work orders, follow production drawing, and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Perform precision, spaceflight critical, assembly on spaceflight components.
- Perform precision, spaceflight critical test operations on spaceflight components.
- Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, solder, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
- Perform assembly tasks, such as sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, and etching parts and assemblies.
- Perform electrical assembly tasks, such as crimping, soldering, connector assembly and basic electrical testing.
- Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components, assemblies, or tooling for products.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
- Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
- Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Participate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate.
- Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
- Cooperate with Auditors.
- Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Employee may be required to obtain related work certifications, including NASA 8739.4 Wire Harnesses or IPC J-STD-001 Soldering.
- Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Extended work hours and/or travel may occasionally be required
