Overview

Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)

Join a dynamic team at a leading manufacturer of synthetic fiber ropes for heavy lift industries. We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production and testing equipment for synthetic ropes. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our machinery and contribute to the efficiency of our production processes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on various equipment including bearings, hinges, doors, winches, conveyors, belts, air compressors, extrusion machines, and motors on overhead cranes.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on hydraulic pumps, including hydraulic filter changes and hose replacements.
  • Execute light MIG/Flux Core welding and use an oxy-acetylene torch for fabrication tasks.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues in equipment such as electrical boxes.
  • Utilize a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record, follow a routine PM schedule, and document repairs.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency in routine preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Light welding skills in MIG and Flux Core.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong initiative.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with CMMS for maintenance scheduling and documentation.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production setting preferred.
  • Intermediate welding skills.
  • Experience replacing hinges, bearings, doors, and motors on overhead cranes.
  • Electrical experience.

Work Environment

Our medium-sized manufacturing facility offers a clean, organized, and air-conditioned environment. With distinct sections for winding, testing, and bundling synthetic ropes, the production floor is home to approximately 30 people. The maintenance technician will work day shifts from Monday to Friday, with a choice between 6:00 am to 3:30 pm or 7:00 am to 4:30 pm shifts. The role requires wearing steel-toed boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses.

A night shift exists for production workers but does not affect the maintenance team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stafford, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
