Role SummaryThe Mechatronics / Robotics Engineer will work on the design, integration, and control of advanced robotic and autonomous platforms. This role combines mechanics, electronics, and software to deliver precise and reliable motion for robotic systems used in industrial and commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and tune control algorithms for multi‑degree‑of‑freedom robotic systems (locomotion, manipulation, or mobile platforms).
- Define and implement limits and constraints (torque, speed, motion envelopes) to ensure robust mechanical performance and long‑term reliability.
- Integrate actuators, sensors, embedded controllers, and mechanical components into complete mechatronic subsystems.
- Use simulation tools to model and validate robotic behavior prior to hardware testing.
- Perform hands‑on bring‑up, calibration, and testing of robotic systems in the lab and field environments.
- Collaborate with AI/ML and embedded teams to interface higher‑level decision logic with low‑level control loops.
Contribute to mechanical and electrical design reviews and provide feedback on system integration.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with robotic or motion control systems (robot arms, mobile robots, legged robots, or similar).
- Solid understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and control (e.g., PID, impedance, trajectory planning).
- Proficiency with at least one robotics stack (e.g., ROS or ROS2) and programming in C++ and/or Python.
- Strong hands‑on skills with lab equipment, debugging, and integration.
- Experience with humanoid, legged, or high‑DoF robotic platforms.
- Familiarity with simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Mujoco, etc.).
- Exposure to human‑robot interaction concepts or collaborative robot applications.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams involving AI/ML, embedded, and hardware engineers.
