Position: REGISTERED NURSE - TELEMETRY/NEURO/OBSERVATION - F/T NIGHTS

Registered Nurse – Telemetry/Neuro/Observation – Full‑time, Night Shift at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin, New Jersey.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
  • Perform age‑ and disease‑specific assessment/data collection independently, focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
  • Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patients.
  • Identify patient/family education needs based on age, disease, and cultural learning differences.
  • Develop and coordinate patient‑ and family‑centered plans of care, prioritising expected outcomes.
  • Communicate and implement the plan of care with nursing colleagues, physicians, and support services.
  • Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and the health‑care team regarding status, rendered care, and treatment plans.
  • Implement age‑ and disease‑specific care in an organized, timely manner.
  • Coordinate patient/family education and ensure understanding.
  • Adhere to established protocols, including communication with relevant persons and documentation of events.
  • Provide nursing care and treatments that reflect patient needs, advocate appropriately, and demonstrate evidence‑based practice and compliance with standards.
  • Perform continuous point‑of‑care electronic documentation of assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluation of rendered care.
  • Administer medication using bar‑scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe delivery.
  • Assist in multidisciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transition and continuum of care.
  • Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
  • Utilize critical‑thinking skills based on nursing knowledge to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Initiate interventions related to patient change and unexpected response to care.
  • Identify and address ethical issues in the practice setting.
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain required competencies, certifications, and continuing education to meet accreditation and licensing requirements.
  • Adhere to the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses and HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Lift a minimum of 35 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand a minimum of 6 hours a day.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required.
  • BLS/CPR certification by the American Heart Association required.
  • BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within 3 years of hire.
  • Minimum six months of nursing experience OR active participant in HMH’s Nurse Residency Program.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong accountability for improving patient lives, focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education, and passion for delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused care.
Compensation

Minimum rate of $43.77 per hour (subject to adjustment based on experience, education, and other non‑discriminatory factors). This is an estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act.
