- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Register patients and verify patient demographics and billing information.
- Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.
- Answer telephone calls and route as appropriate.
- Coordinate paperwork and distribute necessary forms to various departments.
- Maintain the work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy in matters relating to patient/family.
- Adhere to River's Edge Hospital & Clinic policies and procedures.
- Maintain quality levels that meet or exceed customer expectations through process improvement and a team‑oriented approach.
- Work with other staff to ensure departmental goals and objectives are met.
- Report accurately and timely to those requiring information.
- Work within Registration work queues as assigned.
- Initiate problem‑solving and conflict resolution to foster effective work relationships with peers.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Provide good communication and work effectively with co‑workers, other departments, and staff to meet departmental goals.
- Arrive and leave work on time.
- Perform work as assigned/required.
- Maintain current awareness of departmental and Clinic procedures and events.
- Schedule patients from the Emergency Department requiring IV Therapy as needed.
- Maintain cash drawer.
- Maintain knowledge of facility fire and disaster plans; perform duties efficiently during drills and related situations.
- Participate in facility committees and work teams as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient, physician, and employee information.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new employees and/or students.
- Complete special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Reports directly to the Registration Lead and the Patient Financial Services Manager.
Requirements- High school graduate or GED.
- Prefer one year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
- Experience with computers and other office equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to manage a complex work environment.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence.
- Typing speed of 50 wpm.
- Maintain effective relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
- Work with limited supervision while following given directions.
Greets, instructs, directs, and registers patients and visitors. Presents a friendly, courteous, and caring image. Uses correct phone etiquette, answering calls in a pleasant and helpful manner. Schedules patients from the Emergency Room to IV Therapy when needed.
Performs other duties as requested by the Registration Lead and Patient Financial Services Manager.
Position is .2 FTE (16 hours per two weeks), working every-other Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
