This position will support eligibility workers in their efforts to help Nicollet County residents who are in need of financial assistance or other services. They help clients with health care-related paperwork and logistics, perform administrative support duties, work with audits and reports, and act as a point of contact for other agencies. Successful Income Maintenance Case Aides are efficient, detail oriented, effective communicators, and willing to learn about multiple public assistance programs.
This position will be required to work on-site, and is not eligible to telecommute.
Responsibilities- Administers Medical Assistance transportation services, coordinates transportation to medical appointments for medical assistance recipients, explains program rules and requirements to receive transportation services, authorizes transportation benefits according to program rules, processes medical transportation client reimbursements, and reviews transportation provider bills for accuracy.
- Performs health care program functions, enters managed care enrollment forms, coordinates with health care providers on health care applications, and performs other health care related support functions as assigned.
- Screens applications for financial assistance benefits for completeness, records application and renewals on tracking forms, assigns cases to appropriate workers, and makes referrals to other internal teams and/or community resources.
- Assists financial assistance staff to complete daily tasks, completes public assistance verification requests, processes returned mail and other duties as assigned.
- Generates and distributes reports, gathers data, and responds to general requests from internal and external customers.
- Assists fraud investigator in completing daily tasks, creates case files, gathers documentation form multiple systems, and prepares case files for administrative disqualification hearings or criminal prosecution.
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication with clients, the public, and staff. Maintains good working relationships with clients and the public. Utilizes effective strategies to assist clients with limited English proficiency.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
- A High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; and,
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible clerical experience and/or experience working with the public.
