Job DescriptionAbout STMA Schools
We serve over 6,700 students and employ more than 750 staff in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The district includes one kindergarten school, three elementary schools (grades 1‑4), two middle schools (grades 5‑8), and one high school (grades 9‑12).
Position Overview & Responsibilities
Prepare lessons and instruct students with a wide range of abilities. Assess student learning, collect and analyze student data, and plan instruction accordingly. Create an engaging and respectful classroom environment, communicate with students, parents, and multiple stakeholders, maintain accurate records, supervise students, and participate in school improvement initiatives and professional learning.
Dates: March 2, 2026 – June 5, 2026 (potential for an additional day in February for on‑boarding/training)
Requirements & Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in education
• Required teaching certificate in a related area of instruction as required by the State of Minnesota
• Specific content knowledge, relevant training or job experience required before appointment
• Successful completion of student teaching
Wages: Long‑Term Substitute Certified Staff Rate with appropriate certification from PELSB: $249.55/day. $190/8‑hour day ($23.75/hour) if newer to the district, or $200/8‑hour day ($25/hour) for those with 60+ certified substitute days in the district in the 24‑25 School Year and only a short‑call substitute license.
Benefits: Available but without district contribution for fully certified teachers when contract days are less than 30. Fully certified teachers with assignments longer than 30 days are entitled to district contribution at the full‑time (1.0 FTE) benefit level. No benefits with short‑call substitute license or licensure in another area. Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) will be provided as required by law.
