PositionBehavioral Health Technician (Full-Time)
Saint Mary’s Behavioral Health Center (SMBHC) is an evidence-based, client-centered residential treatment program dedicated to meeting clients where they are and helping them “be the great person they were always meant to be.” We provide a warm, welcoming, and therapeutic environment for adolescents receiving mental health treatment. We are currently seeking Behavioral Health Technicians to provide safe monitoring, support, and structure for clients in our primary mental health residential program.
Schedule- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Starting at $17.00/hour

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a vital member of the treatment team and works under the supervision of the Director of Housing and Transportation. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, care, and well-being of clients, maintaining a supportive therapeutic environment, and accurately documenting client behavior.

- Adolescents ages 11–17 (up to age 19)
- Clients receiving residential treatment for:
- Self-harm
- Aggression
- Suicidal ideation
- Substance abuse
- Trauma
- Mood instability
- Depression and anxiety
- Ability to interact professionally with clients and staff
- Ability to handle stressful and demanding situations
- Strong collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Competency in problem-solving, stress management, ethics, and teamwork
- Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs, including their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact
- Ability to recognize medical emergencies and take appropriate action
- Knowledge of emergency procedures, First Aid, and CPR
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and additional responsibilities related to mental health treatment
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for clients and staff
- Monitor, observe, and document client behavior and accountability
- Supervise self-administered medications
- Complete and submit incident reports promptly
- Attend all staff meetings and mandatory in-services
- Follow infection control guidelines at all times
- Provide end-of-shift reports to the Director via email
- Report medical emergencies, elopements, or ACA incidents immediately
- Transport clients to appointments, activities, support groups, and other facilities using a company van
- Orient new clients and complete housing intake documentation
- Conduct searches of client belongings and residential spaces for contraband
- Monitor curfews and rule compliance for transitional living clients
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CPR Certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- 0–1 years of experience preferred (not required) in:
- Mental health
- Chemical dependency
- Psychiatric, residential, partial hospitalization, or outpatient settings
