Overview

Job Title: Project Manager – Shielded Anechoic Test Chambers & Specialised Facilities

Location: Haydock, UK

Employment Type: Full-time. Will be required to undergo UK Security Check

We are seeking a Project Manager to work within our existing Project Management Team to manage the Design, Manufacture, Installation and Site Acceptance Tests for our proprietary Shielded Anechoic chambers for EMC and Antenna Measurement. The successful candidate would be expected to manage multiple Projects concurrently.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction/build management, project planning, risk mitigation, and budget oversight. A mechanical background would be beneficial. This role requires direct customer interaction, cross-functional leadership, and collaboration with global engineering and production teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Periodic travel to customer sites across the UK, Europe and Rest of the World would be required dependent upon Installation Site locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program & Project Leadership: Oversee various shielded test chamber programs ranging between £10k and £1M simultaneously.
  • Planning & Coordination: Develop and maintain detailed project plans (Gantt charts, milestones, critical path) and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate activities with MVG Teams (engineering, construction, logistics, quality) across multiple global locations.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary customer interface, conducting regular progress reviews, status meetings, and issue resolution.
  • Contract & Change Management: Manage contractual obligations, change requests, and customer expectations.
  • Communications: Present technical and programmatic updates to senior leadership and customers.
  • Risk & Budget Management: Proactively identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Cost & Performance Tracking: Track cost, schedule, and performance metrics, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor Management: Manage subcontractors/vendors and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
  • Construction/Build Management: Oversee facility construction, installation, and testing of anechoic chambers, shielded enclosures, and specialised test environments.
  • Safety & Compliance: Coordinate with construction managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure safety, compliance, and technical requirements are met.
  • Experience with cleanroom, RF-shielded, or controlled-environment builds is highly desirable.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to industry standards (MIL-STD, IEEE, ISO) and customer-specific requirements.
  • Reporting: Generate weekly/monthly program reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • An Engineering qualification would be beneficial. Construction Management or Program Management qualifications would also be useful or significant experience should be demonstrated.
  • 3-5 years of experience in building construction, program, or project management
  • Proven expertise in:
  • Project planning tools (MS Project or similar for Gantt charts).
  • Risk management (identification, mitigation, contingency planning).
  • Budget and financial tracking (cost accounting, forecasting).
  • Construction/build management (facility upgrades, specialised infrastructure).
  • Strong customer-facing skills – ability to present technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a global team environment (coordinating across time zones, cultures, and disciplines).
  • U.K. Citizenship is required (due to government contract obligations).
Preferred (But Not Required) Qualifications
  • Experience in EMC testing, antenna measurement, or RF test systems (familiarity with anechoic chambers, OTA testing, or military EMC standards is a plus).
  • Experience with subcontractor management (RFPs, SOWs, performance tracking).
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Opportunities for professional development and training
  • Collaborative and supportive work environment
