AboutThe Role
With continued growth within our Power Division we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the Team! We are looking for a Civils Operative to carry out excavations and civils works in compliance with the Codes of Practice, Authorisation Procedures, and the Electricity Supply Industry, DNO Specific and Model Distribution Safety Rules. The role includes responsibility for NRSWA and Safety Management for any project, quality and compliance to standard of workmanship, and oversight of others working on the project.
- Deliver programmed works to the highest safety standards
- Responsible for site safety and work quality and compliance with NRSWA and Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
- Deliver programmed works to the highest electrical safety management and environmental standards
- Develop good relationships with clients, other service providers, architects, consultants and end customers
- Deliver the programmed works at the expected level of quality, performance, safety and cost
- Site management and interface between customer staff and other service providers
- Ensure that adequate progress is being made during the project lifecycle
- NRSWA Operative essential and working experience within civils and utilities industry
- NPORS or CPCS plant operator qualification and/or SHEA Power
- Experience with in the electricity sector
- Good communication skills and the ability to receive and give instructions
- Interpersonal skills: communication, influencing, negotiation, persuasion, and diplomacy
- Knowledge of specification, design, maintenance and construction of plant and apparatus including control and protection equipment
- Good organisational skills
- Understanding of requirements and procedures of civil element of electrical projects
- Understanding of asset owner interfaces
- Knowledge of civils materials and tooling
- Client specific requirements
- Full UK driving licence – (with up to 7.5 tonne desirable)
- First Aid at work certification is an advantage
