Business Development Director - Defence - High Growth Technology Business - North West. Attractive Salary, plus Bonus, plus 4 day working week

Delkia is a specialist engineering and technology company operating throughout the UK and Internationally for mission critical and safety related systems in highly regulated industries. Their focus is on Defence and Clean Energy / Nuclear sectors.

Their offering includes engineering, systems integration, engineering design, technical consultancy, and complex control systems support. Their purpose is protecting lives and critical assets. Having doubled in size each year for the last four years, they have ambitious further plans to reach £30m within two to three years and £50million within four to five years.

As they enter this exciting scale up phase and look to future proof the business with clear succession planning, they are looking to appoint a new Business Development Director - Defence.

Our ideal person will be an experienced business development / commercial lead, who has deep engineering awareness and will be familiar with, and well networked within, Prime environments which are delivering submarine, surface ships, or air programmes. It is important to have a successful track‑record of tendering successfully into the MoD, Tier 1 suppliers, and defence primes, including sourcing leads through ITT, RFP’s and RFQ’s.

This experience might have been gained in Tier 1and Tier 2 suppliers delivering engineered, integrated solutions into the defence Primes, ideally within the electronics and systems domain, delivering safety-control systems. Alternatively, experience gained within engineering consultancies and systems integrators with strong defence exposure would also be of interest.
