Are you a Life Changer? Do you want to lean in and transform the life of a child?
Compass Community puts children first through our therapeutic, innovative approach. Integrity, Courage and Care shape how we work. We listen deeply, challenge each other and fix what needs fixing, together.
Compass Community provides compassionate, innovative care for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including Autism, ADHD and communication difficulties.
All staff receive extensive therapeutic training and support. Our triangulated approach places the child at the centre of decision making, ensuring that education, therapy professionals, parents/carers, local authority teams and students work together to secure outstanding outcomes.
Who We AreCompass Community Schools is proud to announce the opening of a brand new school in Newton-le-Willows, set to welcome its first pupils in September 2026. This new provision reflects our commitment to delivering high‑quality, inclusive education in nurturing and supportive environments.
The RoleWe are looking for a Mathematics specialist. You will support entry level, functional skills, Key Stage 3 and GCSE curricula. You will be supported by national subject champions who help non‑subject specialists become experts in facilitating learning for the children they know best.
As a teacher, you are primarily focused on the child, building professional, nurturing and positive relationships and motivating students. You will plan exciting and engaging learning opportunities that challenge and push students, whether they are working on the very basics or have a special talent or passion.
Our children require teachers who can manage complex and challenging behaviours, provide individualized attention, use appropriate communication, maintain consistency and flexibility, and adopt a non‑judgemental approach. You will be part of decision making that drives the school, contributes to both the academic curriculum and extra‑curricular opportunities, and advocates for every child.
We regularly review applications and reserve the right to close an advert early if we identify suitable candidates.
