Job OverviewThis post is open to newly qualified professionals and those returning to practice. We are offering an opportunity to join the Cornwall Children’s Community Speech and Language Therapy service as a Speech and Language Therapist in our Central locality team. The role involves working with a mixed 0‑18 years caseload in community settings, education settings, home visits and clinic appointments across St Austell and Newquay.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate interventions and therapy for a 0‑18 years mixed community caseload.
- Provide clinical support in education settings, home visits and clinic appointments.
- Deliver assessment and intervention and provide consultation and training to families, educators and other health professionals.
- Work 3 days in the St Austell area and two days within the Newquay area.
- Possibility to develop a mixed communication and dysphagia caseload for applicants with the appropriate competencies.
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Undergraduate paediatric clinical experience in a range of settings.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic interventions for children, including differential diagnosis and caseload management strategies.
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (desirable).
- Support to complete RCSLT newly qualified competencies through regular supervision and the Trust preceptorship programme.
