Job Overview

This post is open to newly qualified professionals and those returning to practice, and we welcome applications from individuals at the start of their career or re-entering the workforce. The role covers maternity leave for a Speech and Language Therapist within the Central Cornwall Team (Truro and St Austell). It involves a 0‑18‑year‑old mixed community caseload, providing assessment, intervention, consultation and training through clinic, setting, and home visits.

Working for our organisation

We are an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, delivering community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. Person

Specification Educational
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Desirable
  • Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
Experience
  • Undergraduate paediatric clinical experience in a range of settings.
  • Ability to deal with a range of clinical issues, with knowledge of differential diagnosis re SLT, and formulate appropriate caseload management strategies.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and appropriate therapeutic interventions for children.
