Qualifications

Required:

Must possess or be able to undertake and obtain Basic Food Hygiene Certificate within 6 months of appointment to the post.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting and supporting the Senior Cook in the efficient and effective operation of a quality school catering service to achieve set standards.
• Food preparation and cooking activities including the preparation, and serving of meals and beverages and the organisation of service points.
• Responsibility for monitoring and maintaining portion control.
• To assist the Senior Cook in the marketing of the catering service.
• To deputise for the Senior Cook in his/her absence ensuring that a quality catering service is maintained.
• To assist in the maintenance of a high standard of hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety in the kitchen and associated areas.
• To assist the Senior Cook in the maintenance of the HACCP system and documentation, ensuring that this is maintained in his/hers absence.
• General kitchen and dining room activities.
