Are you a dedicated Study Skills Mentor passionate about helping students achieve their academic potential?
Randstad Student Support is looking for experienced one-on-one Study Skills Support Workers to assist students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in St. Andrews. Join us in making a difference in their educational journeys!
Starting as soon as possible, this hybrid role requires flexibility for both in-person and online sessions, tailored to student preferences.
Essential Criteria- Need to have teaching or tutoring experience,
- (or)
- Any in-depth knowledge of learning difficulties that students may have
As a Specialist Study Skills Support Worker, you ll provide personalized learning support, including:
- Developing individual learning plans to foster independence
- Building on strengths and effective learning strategies
- Enhancing organization and time management skills
- Creating action plans to stay on track
- Improving research and comprehension skills
- Experience working with students with Autism would be a significant advantage
It s essential to address student needs on a case-by-case basis while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Share relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best service for your students.
Desirable skills- Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths whilst maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
- Punctuality and reliability
- Good organisational skills
- Relevant professional body memberships:
The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS), British Dyslexia Association (BDA), The Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE), Dyslexia Guild (DG)
Ability to manage a caseload of students
