Land Acquisition Manager – St Albans
Salary: £25,000+ Basic (DOE) + Commission + Car Allowance/Company Car
One of the top-performing property agencies in St Albans is expanding and is now looking to recruit an experienced Land Acquisition Manager to strengthen their growing Land & Development team
.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and commercially minded land professional to play a key role in identifying, securing, and appraising development opportunities across the local area.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs Land Acquisition Manager, your duties will include:
- Identifying and securing residential and mixed-use development sites of all sizes
- Conducting local market research on land values, availability, and planning context
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with landowners, agents, and Local Authorities
- Networking to source off-market and new land opportunities
- Researching local market trends and discussing opportunities with senior management
- Carrying out full site appraisals and land valuations
- Preparing and presenting detailed land appraisals to the Managing Director
- Negotiating Heads of Terms and formally submitting offers
- Assisting with technical appraisals and commercial feasibility assessments
- Managing enquiries, prospecting for high-quality leads, and following up on opportunities
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Land Acquisition / Land Management
- Relevant qualifications (Degree or Masters preferred;
RICS/MRICS desirable
) - Strong knowledge of the local St Albans property market and development plans
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A proactive, ambitious, and tenacious mindset
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- Basic salary from £25,000+ (dependent on experience)
- Commission structure discussed at interview
- Car allowance or company car
- Flexible working approach (candidate discretion)
- Standard hours:
09:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday - Occasional Saturday or weekend networking opportunities (not compulsory)
