Join Aon as an actuarial consulting pensions industrial placement and discover how our global team of specialists help businesses make smart choices about their employees’ pensions — now, and into the future. You will work with client teams, providing advice and support to trustees handling pension schemes or the companies that sponsor them. The aim is to progress into a trusted advisor for clients by developing technical and consulting skills, including calculations, communication, project management and networking.
WhatYour Day Could Look Like
Actuarial and Analytical Tasks, such as:
- Regular assessment of the financial position of pension schemes
- Identifying and implementing ways for trustees and companies to reduce risks in relation to their schemes (e.g., longevity, investment, inflation)
- Carrying out calculations for pension scheme financial statements and for individual members’ benefits
- Estimating Pension Protection Fund levies
Client Focused Tasks, Such As
- Day-to-day management of the pension scheme and internal projects
- Building and managing relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Attending and presenting at client meetings
You’ll be involved in a range of projects, including specialist teams such as:
- Risk Settlement
- Member Options
- Analysis of mortality and demographic trends (Demographic Horizons)
As an Aon Industrial Placement, you will be enrolled onto our Launch Programme. Core elements include:
- Business learning: on-the-job experiences to develop knowledge of your team and solution line
- Centralised learning: induction, monthly webinars, training and workshops to build knowledge, confidence and network
- Feedback: regular discussions with your line manager and ongoing development over a 12-month programme
The placement may lead to a place on our graduate programme in the same business unit. The role supports the Launch development programme, including professional qualification support (e.g., level 4 Diploma in Insurance from the CII) and ongoing career growth.
Entry RequirementsOn track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a maths, actuarial science or other highly numerical field; A-grade in Maths A-level or equivalent.

Wealth Solutions:
Pensions teams are based across the UK with the same opportunities for learning and progression. The following locations have Industrial Placement opportunities this year:
Epsom (Surrey), Glasgow, and St Albans (Hertfordshire) ONLY. Candidates selecting other locations as first preference may be rejected.
Initial安排: 6 months in office to support learning, followed by flexible working (3–4 days in the office or with clients).
