Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 3JE
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time – 37 hours per week
Salary: £42,500 up to £46,871 inclusive annual salary plus up to 19.7% employer pension contribution and essential car user allowance
OverviewThis role plays a key part in ensuring the safety and quality of the council’s housing stock. The post holder will conduct capital and revenue works within the council’s housing portfolio, focusing primarily on gas and water work streams while identifying sustainable alternatives.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive surveyors for gas and water systems across the housing portfolio.
- Manage capital and revenue works, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for alternative heat sources and energy‑saving measures.
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and safety.
- Strong knowledge of gas, water, and heating systems.
- Experience managing capital and revenue works in a housing context.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a commitment to quality.
- Passion for innovation and sustainability, supporting climate‑emergency goals.
