Location: Bricket Wood, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 - £46,839 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: February 2026

We are working with a highly regarded secondary school in Bricket Wood, close to Watford, to recruit a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join their Humanities Department from February 2026. The school is well known for its inclusive approach, excellent academic achievements, and commitment to developing well-rounded students.

This role provides an exciting opportunity for a History Teacher to inspire and engage students, while contributing to the ongoing success of a thriving department. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and those newer to the profession.

You will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for KS5 teaching depending on experience. Your role will include delivering engaging, knowledge-rich lessons, assessing student progress, and supporting curriculum development within the Humanities faculty. You will also contribute to extracurricular activities, helping to foster a positive and respectful school environment.

  • Deliver History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential KS5 teaching depending on experience)
  • Create engaging lessons that inspire critical thinking and curiosity
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Track student progress through regular assessments and prepare students for GCSE History exams
  • Contribute to curriculum development and cross-curricular projects within the Humanities team
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
  • Support the school's behaviour policies and encourage positive learning attitudes
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to wider school life
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote academic success
  • QTS or equivalent overseas teaching qualification
  • Degree in History or a related Humanities subject
  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 History
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for making History engaging and relevant
  • Effective classroom management and high expectations for student behaviour
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
