Semi-Senior Accountant

Job Summary

NLB Solutions is working with three partner accountancy practices based in St Albans that are looking to recruit a Semi‑Senior Accountant who is working towards building their own client base and handling a variety of other work. You will be expected to build relationships with clients, supporting and understanding their specific needs to help them get the most out of their business.

The team works on a hybrid basis and is looking for someone who will qualify either as an ACA or ACCA Accountant. You will be part of a well‑established team with a great management team to support your development.

Working hours are 9‑5 with study support, providing a great opportunity for someone looking to qualify as an accountant. Candidates should have at least three years of experience working in a practice environment. Parking and local amenities are very accessible.

• Main point of contact for own portfolio of clients, managing the full client experience.
• Responsible for statutory and management accounts preparation.
• Accounts preparation, Corporation Tax, VAT.
• Personal tax preparation.
• Mentor and help develop more junior members of the team.

• Competent in the use of Xero, Quick Books, Tax Calc, Iris and Sage 50 Accounts.
• Competent use of Excel and Word.
• Able to work to deadlines.
• Qualifications/study – Ideally already studying for a professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
