Delivery Driver (07592) – 901 W. 400 South Job Description
This role is responsible for delivering pizzas and related products within a designated delivery area, operating company equipment, and maintaining efficient store operations. Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and access to an insured vehicle suitable for delivery.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain delivery vehicles and other company equipment.
- Deliver pizzas and store items within the assigned delivery zone, navigating multi‑story buildings and adverse terrain.
- Respond to telephone and in‑person orders, entering them accurately on a computer or touchscreen.
- Prepare and stock ingredients, manage inventory, and complete related paperwork.
- Clean equipment and store facilities on a daily basis.
- Attend orientation and on‑the‑job training sessions.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with customers and coworkers, both verbally and in writing.
- Provide accurate monetary change and handle cash transactions.
- Operate in a fast‑paced environment, often working alone or within a team to meet quality standards.
- Minimum age 18.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle suitable for delivery activities.
- Excellent navigational skills, including reading maps and locating addresses.
- Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for quick calculations.
- Proficient with computer keyboards or touch‑screen systems for order entry.
- Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Capacity to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lb (e.g., cases of ingredients or pizza sauce).
- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
- Workplace temperatures ranging from 36 °F in coolers to 90 °F+ in certain areas.
- Potential exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces up to 500 °F, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
- Requirement to work on rough terrain, stairs, and ladders as needed.
- Standing, walking, and reaching for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lb and carrying of items up to 12 lb per tray.
- Manual dexterity for knife, peel, and cutter use, and for assembling cardboard boxes.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as scooping, washing, and cleaning within confined spaces.
- Compliance with safe handling and navigation of heavy equipment and multi‑story building access.
Training will be provided on the job, including safety procedures, order processing systems, and customer service guidelines. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a high standard of product quality and safety.
