Nestle in Springville, UT manufactures Stouffer's Frozen Meals. We are currently hiring for the Amerio Operator position. Openings are available on 2nd shift. Shifts are 10 hours rotating schedules.
Job DescriptionOperates the Amerio Freezer to ensure that package quality is maintained and the line is able to run without interruption due to the freezers.
Primary Responsibilities- Understand and follow operational procedures for start-up and shut‑down when applicable to shift.
- Operate machinery and use controls in auto and manual.
- Communicate all problems or concerns to Team Leader or Lead Person in a timely manner.
- Respond appropriately and follow procedures when freezer tilts or has any other problems.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurate and filled out completely.
- Model the Springville Compass in all work‑related activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Team Leader.
- Understand verbal and written instructions in English.
- Follow safety rules and procedures including the wearing of safety shoes, hearing protection, bump cap, safety glasses and whizard gloves where appropriate.
- Observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA policies and good food handling procedures.
- Identify sub‑standard ingredients, products or procedures and take corrective action to ensure GMPs.
- Be able to transport and position oneself to, from, and around one's designated work area on concrete surfaces which are often uneven, wet, and slippery.
- Detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms or instruments indicating hazardous conditions or circumstances which may cause equipment or product loss and physical harm.
- Work every scheduled day and arrive at workstation at or before the scheduled starting time.
- Communicate effectively with various support groups, supervisors and team members.
- Weigh commodities accurately.
- Add, subtract, and multiply.
- Have legible handwriting.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 35°F to 100°F.
- Stand and maintain a position at a workstation for a 9‑10 hour period with two 15‑minute breaks; one half‑hour is allotted for a lunch break.
- Able to work at least 40 hours per week on an assigned shift with some daily overtime required in case of emergencies and weekend overtime required.
- Function effectively as a team member or in one‑on‑one situations, and with minimum supervision.
90 days of food manufacturing experience working in a Nestle factory preferred.
