Mental/Behavioral Health Technician (PRN)

Shifts:
Day, Swing &/or Grave Shifts. Minimum of 2 shifts (8 hours) per week with one weekend (Fri eve, Sat or Sun) shift required to maintain PRN/part-time status. Must be able to attend all required training. Preference to candidates available for evening or weekend shifts. Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on day and shift worked. Hourly rate includes shift differentials.
Provo Canyon School, located in Springville, UT, is a 24/7 secure behavioral health treatment center for adolescents aged 13 through 17. We coach, teach and mentor students who have psychiatric disorders. Responsibilities- Mental/Behavioral Health Technician (PRN) provides supervision and documents observations, serving as a positive role model for students.
- Work as a team member and contribute to positive student outcomes.
- Support students in meeting defined daily goals, including hygiene, unit activities, education and therapy meetings.
- Intervene during student crises using verbal de-escalation skills and other personal safety techniques for which you will be trained.
- Use positive verbal skills and coaching to educate students on appropriate behavior and possible outcomes.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Conflict resolution skills, resiliency and patience
- Ability to pass criminal history background check and drug screen
