Position: Electronics Technician 4 - Springfield, VA with Security Clearance

Electronics Technician 4 – Springfield, VA with Security Clearance

Electronics Technician 4 joins M.C. Dean’s Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit to design, engineer, integrate, operate, and maintain electronic security services. The role supports intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command & control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers.

Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain electronic security systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Lead large complex installation projects with limited supervision.
  • Lead safety activities: toolbox talks, operating reliability management (ORMs), and safety audits.
  • Program and install head‑end equipment for access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate systems and hardware locally and globally.
  • Commission and test on‑site software.
  • Lead project drawings, take‑off, and inventory documents.
  • Document and track RFIs, project progress, and daily reports.
  • Communicate project issues and team member concerns to management.
  • Create and manage project schedules and integration of IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems.
  • Forecast and manage project labor hours.
  • Guide and mentor technicians.
Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret clearance required; TS/SCI is a must.
  • Valid driver’s license; able to travel 50%.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 720 classroom hours in Military Electronics Training or graduate from an accredited Electronics Technician program.
  • At least 8+ years of electronics installation and maintenance on multiple customer programs.
  • 3+ years focused on electronic security systems.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent time‑management and organization skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Identiv, Bosch, Airphone).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights up to 60 feet.
