The Systems Administrator will work closely with both on‑site and remote users to coordinate site visits and upgrades, provide on‑site and remote resolution support for trouble calls, and provide TIER 2/3 support of production systems.
Responsibilities- Provide systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.
- Desktop system management responsibilities including account monitoring, security, OS installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
- Support implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
- Provide day‑to‑day operations support, monitoring and problem resolution for all client, server, storage, network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, isolating and resolving hardware and software problems involving applications, operating systems, hardware, and communications infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot network components, implementing OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, including transition and migration of corporate systems.
- Manage installation, configuration and maintenance of Unix/Windows workstations and servers, including web servers, NAS devices, and stored data to support business processing requirements.
- Perform software installations and upgrades to Unix/Windows OS and layered software packages; evaluate and install patches and resolve software‑related problems associated with COTS/GOTS products.
- Attend Authorized Outage, Firewall Change Request, and Root Cause Analysis Boards as required.
- Maintain and manage multiple linked databases with security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and bulk data import/export procedures.
- Service Now experience required.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, firewalls, LAN/WAN, SAN, NAS, SQL, and Oracle.
- Experience managing DNS records, SSL certifications, crontab entries, and Linux/Windows user accounts.
- Experience supporting IC/DOD; experience in Imagery Intelligence domain is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years of Systems Administration experience desired; experience can substitute for a degree.
- Experience with Windows and/or Unix/Linux server administration in physical and virtualized environments.
- Experience with scripting (VB, PERL, shell, etc.), customer service and support, and IT security concepts.
- Familiarity with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
- Must obtain CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent certification within 6 months of hire.
Regular duties include sitting, talking or hearing, repeated arm, wrist, hand motions. Occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision.
