Description
Leidos is seeking a Lab Manager to support the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) program Evaluate, Integrate, Test and Install (EITI) Lab. This role will work closely with infrastructure engineering, orchestration engineering, Sec Dev Ops (SDO) engineering and other technology stakeholders to maintain, develop and support the AGUN program. The Lab Manager will work collaboratively with AGUN engineering teams to build and maintain multiple environments to support deployment, monitoring and operations, troubleshooting and resolve issues for the program.
Clearance Requirement:
Must currently possess and be able to maintain an active DoD SECRET security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
- Provide management support for the AGUN EITI Lab to include scheduling major activities and deconfliction of lab use.
- Develop and manage a lab maintenance communication plan to include a schedule with authorized maintenance windows and pre maintenance alert notifications to all key stakeholders.
- Communicate with engineers and publish status of system outages as needed.
- Coordinate with logisticians and other lab administrators to conduct inventories of test lab equipment and material.
- Identify hardware and software needs to initiate order, receive, and install equipment.
- Identify hardware and software issues and work with engineers to take corrective actions to resolve.
- Lead a small team of system administrators and engineers to maintain the lab configuration, improve lab reliability, and maximize lab resource availability.
- Coordinate with configuration management to ensure the lab baseline is controlled and changes within the lab are authorized.
- Coordinate with Cybersecurity for security scans and patching; assist with and perform security assessments of lab equipment as necessary.
- Must reside in the Washington DC area and be willing to be on-site in the Springfield Virginia area, 2-3 days a week.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and at least 8 years of relevant experience (additional experience may be substituted for a degree).
- Proven experience with lab management, equipment operations, maintenance, and task planning and completion.
- Experience in a System Administration role supporting software configuration management and development environment.
- Ability to assist in the management of networking infrastructure, including firewalls, routers and switches.
- Active DoD IAT Level II (Security+) certification or equivalent required prior to start.
- Ability to work independently as well as with others on a team.
- Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills.
- Experience documenting and providing information for security accreditation and certification.
- Experience with the following systems:
Windows/Linux operation systems and VMware. - Experience with virtualized network infrastructure including network element managers, monitoring applications, and network management applications.
- Previous scanning, patching and STIG mitigation experience.
- Understanding of configuration management tools such as Gitlab and Nexus.
- Knowledge of CI/CD integration.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and the Atlassian suite of tools.
