High Speed Guard Engineer
Location: Springfield, VA
Position OverviewWe are seeking a High Speed Guard (HSG) Engineer to support the implementation, administration, and sustainment of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) operating across multiple networks and security domains. This role supports enterprise transport and cybersecurity services, including design, engineering, implementation, operations, and sustainment of mission-critical systems in a complex, multi-domain environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesGather and analyze technical requirements from stakeholders to determine optimal implementation approaches
Schedule and participate in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) to design and whiteboard architecture and implementation details
Coordinate implementation plans and timelines with engineering and project management teams
Respond to and resolve service outages, system issues, and technical inquiries
Install and manage firmware updates on physical infrastructure components (e.g., servers, storage, switches)
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of high-speed guard and content inspection platforms
Engineer, design, and implement High Speed Guard rulesets and policies to enforce cross-domain data transfer requirements
Active TS/SCI security clearance
Ability to successfully pass and maintain a Government polygraph (post-hire requirement)
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and six (6) years of relevant experience
DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification
Hands-on experience with High Speed Guard (HSG) technologies
Experience working with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) in operational environments
Experience engineering or supporting systems using a total systems engineering approach
Proficiency with Linux operating systems, including:
General OS security practices
TCP/IP networking fundamentals
Network and system security concepts
