The Opportunity:

The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer provides leadership on the program to develop, modernize, enhance, operate, integrate, and sustain cybersecurity services and capabilities for NGA. The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for all technical performance and will serve as the primary point of contact within the program office for all technical matters and issues related to cybersecurity that are not within scope of the Cybersecurity Operations Manager.

The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer will report to the government Chief of Cybersecurity Engineering. This position will be located Chantilly, VA with frequent travel to Springfield, VA.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire Cyber Engineering organization and all of its sub-services for the TCS program.
  • Develop, execute, and implement strategy for Cyber Engineering as adjudicated by the TCS Program Manager.
  • Mitigate complex issues that often would require extensive research and analysis.
  • Communicate and influence executive leadership on recommended courses of action or solutions.
  • Provide engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, implementation, operations, and sustainment of cybersecurity services that enhance the cybersecurity posture of NGA Programs, Systems, and the Enterprise.
  • Lead the research, analysis, solution design, and implementation planning of solutions for the modernization of existing cybersecurity solutions and infrastructures in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to include the Cybersecurity Operations Manager.
  • Drive strategic technological innovation and demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge in all things related to the complex operations of cybersecurity services.
  • Provide technical knowledge and analysis of high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration and advice on complex matters that require expert level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
Requirements:
  • TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a polygraph.
  • Demonstrated specialized experience with implementing, engineering, architecting, designing, or operating cybersecurity technologies with an emphasis in DoD capabilities.
  • Experience leading design and implementation of complex cyber security IT solutions on a large program ($100M+ total contract value).
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience as a chief architect, chief engineer, functional manager, or team lead.
  • Modernizing complex enterprise cybersecurity systems experience.
  • Presenting briefing to senior customer management and customer stakeholders.
  • Certified DoD 8140.01 and 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical Officer (IAT) Level III and Information Assurance System Architecture and Engineering Specialist (IASAE) Level III.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Cyber Security Engineering or IT-related discipline (10 years of experience in cybersecurity may substitute for a degree).
  • Specialized experience (12+ years) in implementing, engineering, integrating, architecting, designing, cybersecurity technologies.
  • Experience supporting an IC or DoD agency in adopting and transitioning systems and services to cloud environments, including hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience applying ICD-503 Risk Management Framework, NIST Special Publications, CNSS 1253, and international standards.

Pay Range

$144,900 - $318,700
