Research and Development Engineer

Overview

Modern Technology Solutions Incorporated (MTSI) is seeking a motivated and skillful R&D Scientist/Engineer with expertise in Signatures to support critical projects within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of EO/IR sensor data and phenomenology with a proven ability to model, simulate, and analyze complex signature systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic R&D environment where innovation and collaboration are highly valued.

• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in DoD or IC programs
• Active TS/SCI with willingness to complete a CI Polygraph
• Experience working with EO/IR sensor data
• Strong knowledge of space-based EO/IR sensor phenomenology
• Proficiency in using high-fidelity IR signature modeling applications
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced R&D environment
• Strong communication skills capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and departments, while also being self-sufficient when needed

• Advanced experience in GEOINT processing research and development
• Extensive experience with DoD EO/IR sensor data
• Expertise in modeling and simulating advanced foreign weapon systems' signatures
• 6+ years of relevant experience in the field
• Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
