Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support school-aged children with visual impairments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting accessibility in education and equipped to deliver instruction in specialized areas such as Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility skills.

This role may involve in-person, virtual, or hybrid services depending on the placement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments
• Provide direct instruction in Braille, adaptive technologies, and orientation/mobility skills
• Conduct assessments to evaluate students' functional vision and learning needs
• Collaborate with general and special education staff, parents, and service teams to ensure integrated support
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Stay current with best practices, technologies, and instructional methods in the field

Qualifications:

• Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students with visual impairments in educational settings
• Proficient in Braille and assistive technology
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable using online platforms for instruction and documentation
• Must hold a valid Pennsylvania license (can reside out-of-state)
