Job Description
Peace Health is seeking a RN – Neuro Trauma ICU for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Night position. The salary range for this role is $49.30 – $77.46. The hiring rate depends on factors such as education, training, work experience, collective bargaining agreement terms, seniority, and other criteria.
Job SummaryProvides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach toward patients, families, and all members of the care delivery team.
Essential Functions- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
- Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Management of ventriculostomy, EVD, and ICP. Nursing care of patients with non‑traumatic ICH, non‑traumatic SAH, seizures. Nursing care of patients with multisystem trauma. Nursing care of patients post tPA, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, carotid artery stenting and intracranial stenting. Management of blood pressure abnormalities with parenteral vasoactive agents. Completion of complex neurological assessments/scales. Nursing care for medical and complex illness requiring frequent intervention.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum of six months critical care experience in an acute care facility within the last five years required, or successful completion of an approved critical care training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire.
- Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Neuro or Trauma preferred.
- Registered Nurse (required)
- Basic Life Support upon hire (required)
- ACLS and NIHSS required within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
- TCAR (preferred) or TNCC required within 12 months of hire/transfer date as a one‑time certification requirement while in the department.
- Preferred: CCRN, CMC, SCRN, TCRN.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (required).

- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family‑centered work environment (required).
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (required).
- Basic computer skills (required).
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to allow grasping and controlling medical equipment and performing precise procedures.
- Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (e.g., medical carts). - Perform hands‑on CPR at least 20 minutes using 100‑125 lbs. of force; frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling frequently.
- Lifting non‑patient up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
