Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level II trauma and multi-specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Operating Room setting within a Level II Trauma Center

• Handles a variety of high-acuity cases including Ortho (total joints), Neuro (craniotomies), Gen/Trauma, Vascular, GYN/Uro, ENT/Plastics, Eyes, and Robotic procedures

• Patient assignment is 1:1 per case

• Performs high-acuity ortho, neuro, and general surgeries throughout the day

• Utilizes advanced equipment including DaVinci Xi Robots, Doppler, Ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, Video Systems, Lasers, Stapling Systems, Hana and Jackson tables, Neuro Beds with Attachments, and Cryoablation

• Average ofcases per day

• Epic EMR is used and 1 year of recent experience is required

• Schedule consists of 4x10 hour day shifts, 11:00-21:30

• On-call is required, up to four 8-hour shifts per 4-week cycle

• No floating outside the OR

• Provide perioperative nursing care for a diverse and high-acuity surgical caseload

• Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions held on Mondays

• Scrubs are provided within the OR

• Free parking is available on site

• RTO requests are reviewed on a case by case basis

• Open to considering block scheduling, subject to department approval

Requirements

• Active RN license required; pending license considered with proof of application

• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred

• Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Ortho experience (including total joints) required

• Minimum 2 years of Level 2 Neuro experience (including craniotomies) required

• Significant trauma, gen/trauma, vascular, endovascular/hybrid, GYN/Uro, ENT/Plastics, Eyes, and Robotics experience required

• Must be comfortable working in a Level II trauma unit

• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience within the past year required

• First-time travelers are not accepted

• Local candidates are not accepted
