Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with Level II trauma and multi-specialty surgical experience for weekend day shifts.
Responsibilities- Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care, Level II trauma center
- Day shifts consisting of 3x12 hours from 6:45 to 19:15, including weekends
- Anticipate handling 60-70 surgical cases daily
- 1:1 RN-to-patient assignment ratio in the OR
- No floating required
- On-call is required, up to four 8-hour shifts every 4 weeks
- Epic EMR system is used, and experience with Epic is required
- Utilizes DaVinci robotic systems, Neptune, Doppler, ultrasound, Aqua mantis, video systems, lasers, and specialized OR tables
- Provide circulating and scrubbing responsibilities for a variety of high-acuity surgical specialties
- Perform high-acuity ortho, neuro, general, and trauma cases, including robotic surgeries
- Orientation is held bi-weekly on Mondays
- On-call assignments will be scheduled as part of the unit's rotation
- Scrubs are provided by the facility for all OR staff
- Free parking is available for staff
- No restrictions on requested time off; requests are reviewed case by case
- Active RN license required; pending license is accepted
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in Level I or II trauma and multi-specialty OR nursing, including ortho (total joints), neuro (including craniotomies), gen/trauma, vascular, endovascular/hybrid, GYN/Uro, ENT/plastics, eyes, and robotics
- Must be comfortable working in a Level II trauma center environment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers are not accepted
