At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Production Lead‑Swing Shift based in Springfield, OR
!
This position is responsible for leading employees through organizing daily tasks and provides guidance and encouragement to produce the highest quality products. Works with a team of employees to ensure proper standard operating procedures are being carried out and plant and team goals are being met. Follows all safety procedures as stated in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety standards, Danone and plant rules, and Danone's code of conduct.
- Starting Wage of $32.57 per hour with annual increases as negotiated by Teamsters Local 206.
- Additional shift differential of 50 cents per hour.
- Swing shift hours: 1:45 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday‑Friday.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Maintains a safe working environment, functioning as a member of a cooperative team and encourages participation in leading safety work.
- Responsible for ensuring production safety and quality standards are being followed by team members.
- Complies with all company and safety policies and practices, including lockout‑tagout.
- Responsible to conduct self and encourage coworkers to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with Company mission, values, code of conduct, and company policies.
- Coordinates the work of production personnel to meet daily business objectives.
- Coaches and mentors employees with multiple skill sets and personalities and participates in training assessments with supervisor.
- Cooperatively works with cross‑functional groups at all levels to solve production problems.
- Ensures all production documentation is complete and accurate and converts relevant information into daily shift report and effectively communicates information to all relevant parties.
- Provides break relief and operates machinery when needed, as trained.
- Depending on assigned area, performs all duties for the given area, e.g., of Machine Operators I‑III, Mix Room Operators/Pasteurizers, and/or Material Handlers.
- Depending on assignment:
- May support scheduling of inbound/outbound trucks for deliveries, transfers, and daily picks. May work with company's PIV impact management software and attend various meetings to communicate and receive pertinent business information.
- May support scheduling of mix batches, staging ingredients for batches, Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and Food Safety Preventative Maintenance (FSPM). May help create, review, and edit Standard Operating Procedures, One Point Lessons (OPL's), and Visual Standard Work (VSW) documents.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
- Constant standing/walking for extended periods, throughout an 8‑hour shift.
- Frequently performs repeated reaching with the hands, employing manual dexterity.
- Works in temperatures below 50 °F and short periods of time in temperatures at or below 0 °F with protective clothing provided.
- Regularly lifts 45 pounds to various heights (32, 40, and 70 inches).

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
