Senior Employee Relations Consultant Position Details
- Full‑Time Position
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Conduct confidential and professional employee relations internal investigations.
- Document all employment matters in the electronic database system (HR Acuity).
- Provide guidance to leaders on employee relation issues such as employee coaching, disciplinary recommendations or other actions for successful outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Labor Relations Director on employee activities that have implications by a union contract.
- Work with the Privacy and Compliance officers on related topics and provide guidance as needed.
- Responsible for leave management per policies and regulations for employees to include FMLA, OFLA, and PLO.
- Oversee the Workers’ Compensation activities; claims, follow‑ups, determine light duty accommodations, ensure OSHA logs and related documents.
- Lead the ADA accommodation process for the hospital in conjunction with vendor processing and determinations.
- Support the overall employee recognition and engagement action plans to drive improvement.
- Assist with benefits administration and communication activities to include retirement plan.
- Act as liaison between employees and insurance companies regarding claims and coverage questions.
- Conduct local open enrollment activities.
- Process step increases, changes to differentials, and other salary administration activities and ensure communication between managers and employees.
- Prepare wage scales and upload for increases in compliance with union contracts and medical center compensation practices.
- Ensure that compensation practices are equitable and compliant with various union labor contracts and unrepresented/non‑union staff policies and procedures.
- Complete EFM filing for items related to job duties.
- Experience working through large‑scale change within an organization.
- Thorough comprehension of Federal, State and Local Employment laws.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple responsibilities with varying priorities.
- Remarkable critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Bachelor’s degree with major or emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field. The equivalent in work experience may be considered.
- 5+ years Human Resources progressive employee relations experience required.
- Healthcare experience is strongly desired.
- Strong experience in employee relations and leave management.
- Previous experience with HRIS systems, Ulti Pro/UKG preferred.
