Job Summary
Peace Health SHMC at Riverbend in Springfield, OR is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist Lead - Cardiac Rehab for a Full Time position, 1.00 FTE, Day. Salary range $33.13 – $49.69 per hour. Hiring rate depends on education, training, experience, collective bargaining terms, seniority, etc.
What you will do:- Assign work; plan and manage priorities, provide technical assistance, oversee staff schedules, monitor quality of work, monitor team projects, mentor staff, provide constructive feedback, oversee staff training, ensure quality improvement, provide leadership feedback on staff performance, and assist with goal setting for the team.
- Conduct initial patient interview and assessment, collect medical history, and develop individualized treatment plan for comprehensive cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation program.
- Case manage entire cardiac rehabilitation program for individual patients: implement, modify and supervise therapeutic program for patients and family members; assess and re‑assess patient throughout program to modify plan of care; maintain appropriate clinical records and consistently document data.
- Develop safe and appropriate exercise prescriptions for a diverse patient population with multiple co‑morbidities. Collaborate with other health care team members regarding continuity of care; be capable of working independently and making high‑level clinical decisions on complex and high‑risk patients with chronic disease.
- Provide patient counseling on test results and procedures; instruct patients on home exercise programs, risk factors, and behavior modification.
- Develop and implement educational programs for patients and families.
- Assist Manager and Wellness Services Coordinator with developing and implementing wellness programs, services and special events (e.g., health fairs, community activities, employee and community wellness programs).
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, protocols and outcome measures.
- Bachelor's degree required (Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or related field).
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year required experience in Clinical Exercise Physiologist role.
- Preferred: previous experience in cardiovascular rehabilitation services.
- Preferred: demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth, development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.

Basic Life Support upon hire. - Required:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 1 year. - Must have knowledge in cardiac rehabilitation phases I, II, III (required).
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in exercise physiology, cardiovascular pathophysiology and cardiovascular disease testing and treatments (required).
- Strong skillset in ECG/arrhythmia recognition (required).
