Safety Coordinator

East West Tea is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our Operations team!

The Safety Coordinator will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our workplace Health & Safety program. Building a culture where every employee feels empowered, supported, and safe, both on and off the job. Partnering with all departments and playing a key role in the Safety Committee to strengthen our safety programs, identify and reduce risks, and create meaningful engagement opportunities that inspire safe choices.

• Conduct routine inspections and audits of equipment, work areas, and operational processes to identify hazards and verify control measures
• Assist in incident investigations by gathering facts, conducting root-cause analysis, documenting findings, and tracking corrective actions

• Actively participate in and support the Safety Committee, ensuring all meeting requirements, documentation, and follow-up actions are completed
• Assist in the development, documentation, and periodic review of safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
• Support emergency preparedness by assisting with evacuation drills, reviewing response plans, and coordinating with cross-functional teams
• Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate safety performance and trends

• Promote behavior-based safety by engaging employees in safe work practices, encouraging open communication, and reinforcing proactive safety behaviors
• Act as a safety ambassador on the floor, observing and recognizing employees who demonstrate safe behavior

• Associate’s degree OR equivalent work experience in a safety role
• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with employees
