Job Summary

The Director of Surgical Services and Cardiac Cath Lab is a professional Registered Nurse (RN) with 24-hour accountability for the strategic, administrative, and clinical operations of the Operating Rooms, Pre-Op/PACU, Sterile Processing, and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.

  • Direct daily operations of surgical suites, recovery areas, and cardiovascular procedural units.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive strategic plan for surgical and cardiovascular services.
  • Optimize throughput, patient flow, and resource utilization to improve efficiency.
  • Manage inventory, supply chain, and equipment maintenance to ensure department readiness.
  • Ensure 24/7 compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and mentor nursing and technical staff (including RNs, CVTs, and Techs).
  • Oversee staffing patterns, scheduling, and labor productivity benchmarks.
Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oregon.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience in Operating Room (OR) or Cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of progressive management experience (Manager or Director level) in a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization techniques and surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in high-stress, emergency situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • BLS, ACLS required.
  • CNOR, RCIS preferred.
