- Role: .9 FTE Day shift Surgical Technologist
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts each week, (may include some weekend shifts)
- Location: Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, Oregon
- Unit: 25 OR Suites that include 2 CVOR and 2 hybrid
- Special features: State of Art technology that includes DaVinci XI and 5, Smart ORs
- A current wage range of $41.67 – $58.31 (hourly rate dependent upon related work experience and terms of the AFT Technical collective bargaining agreement)

Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend is a beautiful 350-bed acute care hospital with a level II trauma center, with one of the state's busiest and most technologically advanced surgical centers. Job Summary:This position is responsible for assisting the Surgical team during operative procedures by performing a variety of technical duties to primarily assist in responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the surgical sterile field for the operative patient.
Details of the Position:- Arrange and inventories sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the surgical team.
- Understand and apply the principles of asepsis. Establish and maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment.
- Assist in preparation and moving of patients.
- Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation. Assists with clean-up and room turnover.
- Access computer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images.
- Participates in all safety initiatives. Adheres to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required:
Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist Programor recognized course of training as a Surgical Technologist - Required:
Surgical Technologist Certification from nationally accredited certifying organization for surgical technologists. - Required:
Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support Certification - Required:
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs - Preferred: 1 year Experience as a surgical technologist in a full-service operating room
- Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated (Required)
- Ability to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with others (Required)
- Ability to execute detailed procedures with accuracy and precision (Required)
- Basic computer/keyboarding skills including MS Office applications (Required)
- Understanding of operating room protocols (Required)
- In lieu of the above education and certification requirements: must have completed a US Military Surgical Technologist Training Program and must complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
