Unit Secretary - Medical Care Unit - Day Shift

Position Details
  • Hourly Base Rate: $19.21 - $24.44
  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Hours Per Week: 32 hours/week, 8 hour shifts
  • SEIU Local 49 represented position

Job Summary
  • Responsible for clerical and secretarial unit management within the Nursing service department.
Educational/Licensing
  • Communicate clearly verbally, in writing, on the telephone and via the patient call system.
  • Accept assignments; follow instructions and directions.
  • Meet safety needs of patients.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED with unit secretary training and/or applicable experience.
  • Hospital background preferred. Knowledge of medications, medical terminology and spelling.
  • Keyboard skills and familiarity with computers essential.
  • Ability to interact with the public courteously and effectively.
  • Ability to work in a busy area, adapting to frequent interruptions, while maintaining efficiency, calm demeanor and a pleasant approach.
  • Current BLS.
