Position: Business Operations Manager (Construction) — On‑site

Overview

Seniority: Mid‑level (open to Senior for the right fit)

Aegis Asphalt Construction is adding a systems‑minded Business Operations Manager to organize the business,
build SOPs
, and run day‑to‑day office operations so our crews can deliver great work—on time and on budget. You’ll own the flow from work order intake → scheduling → execution → closeout
, tighten communication between office and field, and drive measurable efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Create & standardize processes: Write clear SOPs, checklists, and templates for scheduling, job setup/closeout, materials tracking, A/R & A/P routing, and compliance.
  • Run the back office: Oversee phones/inboxes, ensure complete job files, coordinate vendors/subs, and keep documents audit‑ready.
  • Coordinate schedules: Build daily/weekly crew + equipment schedules, resolve conflicts proactively, and communicate changes fast.
  • Own systems & data discipline: Keep Software (work orders/scheduling),
    Software (plans/specs),
    Software (HR/time/payroll), and spreadsheets clean and consistent.
  • Report & improve: Track KPIs (schedule adherence, rework, paperwork completeness, billing cycle time) and lead continuous improvements.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years in construction/trades/field‑service ops or office management supporting crews.
  • Proven record building SOPs/workflows and driving adoption across teams.
  • Strong communicator; highly organized; calm under pressure; reliable follow‑through.
  • Tech‑savvy; quick learner.

    Experience with
    Construction Software (or similar) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of job costing
    , work orders, POs, and closeout packets.
Nice to Have
  • Scheduling/dispatch experience
  • Software/process implementation experience
  • Public works paperwork & compliance familiarity
Pay & Benefits
  • $65,000–$90,000 per year DOE + potential seasonal bonus tied to Ops KPIs
  • PTO, paid holidays, QSEHRA, 401(k) match
