Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience and current hands-on experience with post-op CABG/TAVR recovery and Swan catheter management.

Details
  • 8-bed Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU nested within a 30-bed ICU
  • Patient population includes immediate post-op cardiac surgery patients (CABG, TAVR) and critically ill patients with multi-system organ failure
  • Patient ratios are acuity-dependent: 1:1 for fresh post-op patients and 1:2-3 for more stable patients
  • Manages critical drips with titration and cares for intubated patients on mechanical ventilators
  • Performs hemodynamic monitoring including Swan catheter management
  • Ancillary tech support is limited and census-dependent; position is primarily total care
  • 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS required
  • Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience as an RN
  • Current experience recovering immediate post-op CABG and TAVR patients
  • Current experience managing Swan catheters
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Impella, VAD, IABP, and CRRT experience preferred
  • Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Proof of address required for consideration (e.g., driver's license, voter registration card, federal tax return, military Form 2058, or W2 from the US government)
  • Full SSN and date of birth (MM/DD) required for consideration
  • 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Conducts ongoing patient assessments, develops and implements care plans, and evaluates treatment effectiveness for critically ill patients
  • Manages life-supporting technology including ventilators, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO
  • Serves as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and for family members or caregivers
  • Acts as a patient safety advocate through participation in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • EKG exam is required on the first day with two attempts allowed to pass; study guides will be provided
